THE GREAT RESET (that never was)…

well, that was a(n) hilariously long time between posts. unintended.

i could “explain”, but there’s not much to explain, really. life got in the way, work got in the way, feelings of “bleh” got in the way…

and i’m just generally bad at updating things. so it goes.

but the “great reset” thing i said up there? i’ve always wanted to take this site in a more “professional” direction. as a representation of all the things i do: photography, video commentary, writing… other… stuff. i want this to be somewhat casual but it should still be a good representation of all my creative output. (it can be fun… but not “janky” fun)

so, it would kinda sorta weird me out when people would say “HEY SO GOOD JOB WITH THE BLOG LOL”. like, it wasn’t fully coming across as something people should really take terribly seriously.

^ for my homie, whomst wanted to show it to our mutual homie…

that being the case… this was “fine”… but it needed a new coat of polish. something to separate it from just being a dude starting up something on blogger circa 200x and tapping out one or two posts every few weeks.

but what exactly? a new pro theme? should i do it myself, considering this is what i get paid for… that this is my “day job”? what would make this really feel like… not some random dude’s blog?

but this actually coincides with something: i got one of my pictures printed. actual. live. in the flesh. from digital to honest-to-jah canvas. and i told folks about it who asked… asked: “hey, what have you been up to lately?” (this!) oh, where to see MORE of my photos? (why… RIGHT HERE.)

the view in bk this morning, as i go a-yappin’…

which got me to thinking one night in the office: “you know, man… it’s not like you just don’t have a site… you just don’t LOVE love it right now. it’s kind of a shame to keep so much of your work in limbo for that reason.”

anyways, all that said: we’re stuck together, for the time being. me and this here blog or whathaveyou. and that being the case, the first order of business is to finally finish the part 2 to that “i used to go out more often before the world ended” jernt. because i do have a ton of pics from that last afropunk that i went to… the first one AFTER the pandemic.

and to get a lot more of my photography, and writing, and video, and other nonsense out there. out here. here’s to me not letting perfect be the enemy of “hey, i’ve actually been doing a LOT…”

not that you’d know. not if i don’t show you.
